On November 19th, 2017 Abyssinian Flight Services & Aviation Academy graduated a total of 40 pilots (22 in Private Pilot License, 17 in Commercial Pilot License and 1 in Instructor Ratings) at Intercontinental Hotel Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Graduates include nationals of Ethiopia, South Sudan, Sudan, Yemen, Libiya, Gabon, Nigeria, Rwanda, Syria, India and others
The Sixth batch of Graduates are the largest in number for the school. In his key note address, Capt. Solomon Gizaw (Managing Director of Abyssinian) said that the shortage of pilots reached a critical stage at the global aviation industry. According to Boeing’s recent forecast, the world needs 637,000 new pilots in the next 20 Years. Since its inception in 2007, Abyssinian Aviation Academy (formerly known as Abyssinian Pilot Training School) has graduated 138 pilots pooled from 13 different countries.
